• He or she does not know enough of the subject to make a wise choice of topic.

How to choose a topic for your computer term paper

Since the time Charles Babbage invented the very first computer, many decades ago, there have so many innovations, changes and advancements that it is barely possible to keep track. Therefore, if you have opted for Computers, Computer Science, ICT or any other variation of this subject, you could think of a million things to write about. Keep these tips in mind when you choose a topic:

• Make sure that the topic you choose is one that you have been studying about in the months that precede the writing of the term paper.
• Do not choose a topic that is too controversial unless you are quite confident about getting sufficient data to include in your paper.
• When you choose a topic, keep in mind the fact that the data should be such that a good method of analysis is applicable to it. Without this, it would become pointless.
• Do not pick a topic because it is one of the most popular ones being spoken about right now. It's possible that you will become quite repetitive - not a good thing to be.
• When you choose a topic, write down a few points that you think you can expand on in your paper. If you realize that there is not much to expand on, drop the topic.
• The academic level is another issue that needs consideration. Imagine picking out a very simple topic about computers when you are in undergrad class - it doesn't make sense at all. Pick something suited to your academic level - not too high, not too low.
